Relief
Nearly 62% of Indian population lives in poverty. Added to this poverty, the regular calamities such as drought, cyclones, earthquakes, floods, etc., make the poor still poorer. The head quarters of ELIM is situated at the bank of Bay of Bengal where the people effected by cyclones and floods very often. We have concentrated more on the natural calamities since the Tsunami hit the place in 2004. It has caused lot of damage to the coastal villages of the fishermen and claimed many lives. Thousands of families have become homeless as some of the villages were washed away by the Tsunami. With our limited sources we have helped hundreds of families by providing relief materials and helped some families in rebuilding their houses. Since then we have helped the victims of Ogni, Khai Muk, Jal and the victims of fire accidents and the victims of some man made disasters. If the Lord is leading you to help us in this part of ministry by helping the poor and needy with the basic relief kits whenever the need arises, please do contact us for more information. $50 will provide the basic relief kit to a needy family. |
